Background

A multi storey restaurant in Harrogate employing at least 10 regular staff. Had a safety consultant with a tick box safety management system. She had lots of documentation but not fully understanding the processes or what the legal requirements were.

Problem

• Not given time or consistent help to understand and improve the management system
• Owner left confused, not confident with the systems
• Fire safety not addressed – lots of non-conformaties

Outcome

• Cedar tasked to review and implement a new management system tailored to the business
• Completed a fire risk assessment identifying failings
• Gave correct official guidance to follow
• Structured risk assessments with owner ensuring the risks were accurate and understood and owner took ownership
• Developed forward with a structure staff can sign up to
• Cedar support systems implemented
• Owner now has peace of mind
