Background
A multi storey restaurant in Harrogate employing at least 10 regular staff. Had a safety consultant with a tick box safety management system. She had lots of documentation but not fully understanding the processes or what the legal requirements were.
Problem
- Not given time or consistent help to understand and improve the management system
- Owner left confused, not confident with the systems
- Fire safety not addressed – lots of non-conformaties
Outcome
- Cedar tasked to review and implement a new management system tailored to the business
- Completed a fire risk assessment identifying failings
- Gave correct official guidance to follow
- Structured risk assessments with owner ensuring the risks were accurate and understood and owner took ownership
- Developed forward with a structure staff can sign up to
- Cedar support systems implemented
- Owner now has peace of mind
