Alistair Hume – Health, Safety and Fire

Alistair has more than 30 years professional experience in Health and Safety, Engineering and Management. During his 24 year military career, Alistair was appointed Health and Safety Advisor.  He covered all aspects of consultancy and implementation of policies on Health and Safety, Environmental and Fire Safety issues across Army locations in the UK and Germany.
Alistair has further developed his experience in the private sector with dozens of SMEs, planning and implementing safety management systems to comply with the law, advising management and delivering education and training programmes.
He is a member of the British Safety Council, a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management, and is an Incorporated Engineer.

David Cawthorne  - Human Resources and Employment Law

David has more than 30 years of professional experience.
In his mid twenties David was appointed the employee relations manager of a large British Alcan plant. He progressed to Courage where he was head of human resources for John Smith’s and a senior group executive for Courage as a whole. He was also human resources director for part of Rieter, the Top 100 Swiss engineering company.
In 1994 David became an external adviser, specialising in helping small and medium sized businesses.
David is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, an accolade reserved for senior, experienced human resource professionals.
